It has been a memorable journey and a great honour to organise this CECAM representing UNIMORE along with outstanding partners such as IIT Oak Ridge Lab UC Berkeley

New name on the wall today, after more than 100 years, the same excellence, and a more sustainable future Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials

It has been a great pleasure to visit Jimmy, our Oklahoma ChE alumnus, and Leon & meet with the postdocs/students. Nice campus, very energetic students. Thank you Jimmy Faria very much for the kind invitation & arrangement. Look forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration!

A great pleasure today to visit Prof. Johannes Lercher & his group & give a seminar on liquid-phase catalysis at CRC Catalysis Research Center. Happy to meet with Roland Fischer, Sebastian Günther, Joost Wintterlin & his students who came from the other side of the city Universität München!

Very glad to present a colloquium yesterday at FAU Erlangen-Nbg CLINT CRC at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, meet with Jörg Libuda (thanks for the invitation!), Marco Haumann, Simon Thiele, Olaf Brummel, Yaroslava Lykhach, Huize Wang & many others, and learn the exciting research at FAU & HIERN

Last week's photo with Marie-Laure École normale supérieure | PSL, my PhD advisor, and presented our works on liquid-phase catalysis from DFT (which started at ENS when Kohn did sabbatical in 1963). Glad to meet with Lydéric & learn their exciting works on nano-fluidic transport & quantum friction.

Great pleasure to give a seminar at Fritz Haber Institute Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society theory department and meet with the group leaders (Christian, Hendrik, Nicolas, Johannes, Sebastian, Chiara) & talent students/postdocs. Thanks Prof. Karsten Reuter for the kind invitation and hosting my visit!

Last week was a very intense week during the 12th Singapore International Chemistry Conference (SICC-12). Thanks Professor Yong Wang Yong Wang's Group - WSU & Mingwu Tan A*STAR Research for the kind invitation & putting together an exciting program+organizing all the discussion activities.

Glad to visit Professor Nozaki's group 東京大学 | UTokyo and talk about our research. It was nice to learn exciting works from Drs Jin, Takahashi, and many talent students and postdocs.

Vi Phan (from Ian Burgess group at the University of Saskatchewan U of Saskatchewan) has a new work published in J. Am. Chem. Soc. in collaboration with Quy in our group. Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Ammonia to Nitrate Occurs on NiOOH with OH/O Vacancies pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Last week in the Symposium for Humboldt-Stiftung Research Award Winners. Very beautiful town (Bamberg) and a fantastic event. Thanks again my host and nominator Jörg Neugebauer and many other colleagues with whom we had wonderful time during my sabbatical Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials last fall

Today Jacob Crouch did a very successful PhD defense. Jacob has been a very valuable member in my group & made several contributions in zeolite catalysis. One co-authored work (funded by U.S. National Science Foundation) was just published today. Congratulations! Many more are coming pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

A Career in Catalysis: Daniel Resasco ACS Catalysis Today's publication, led by Joaquin Resasco, celebrates Daniel's Daniel Resasco career achievement. I & many of us appeciate not only his scientific insights & discussion but also his mentorship & friendship! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Today we are happy to have Professor Michael Tsapatsis Johns Hopkins ChemBE to give the 49th Annual Harry G Fair Memorial Lecture and excited to learn the progress of ZIF materials in gas separation and microelectronic applications.

On Monday we celebrated Daniel's Daniel Resasco Lifetime Achievement Award during the OU VPRP's University of Oklahoma Research annual award ceremony. Introduced by our colleague Lance Lobban & award presented by interim VPRP Carol Silva. Congratulations!
