For the life of me I do not understand why a select youth sports team from Seattle has to fly to Vegas or Atlanta to play in a 3-day tournament against teams from different states. Does it make you feel good to say, “we spent $2,000 in travel expenses to go 2-2 in tournament

In American Legion, we played almost every day, practiced on off days, and had only 2 true off days a month. Then played for a real tournament worth something (districts, states, regionals, nationals). Now you try and practice and it’s like pulling teach. Youth ball is broken.

Refreshing to see all the updates about American Legion Baseball post season, most states started last week. For all the travel ball guru’s, you cannot buy into our Post Season, you have to earn every advancement throughout (District, Division, State, Regionals, World Series).

This dude puts the work in. He went up to Maine and balled out last week. Dude can guide a pitching staff drive the ball from Gap to gap and hit you a bomb all while making every player around him better. Just a phenomenal baseball player and an even better young man!

This is a great point however there is also a lot of dudes using their resources and Babe Ruth, Pony, Little League and American Legion to give FREE baseball to youth that get chastised by some organizational “gurus”. Point is not everyone has baseball in their heart.

Why Legion Baseball ? Our guys paid $100 for the entire summer. Finished the summer with 31 games. Hitters had over 100 AB’s. Pitchers had 20-50 ip. Free hotels. Local, state, and regional tournament. If you’re a 2025 and committed, legion is the place to play next summer.

Fall Ball is so important in college but not in high school? I don’t get the disconnect. Fall is where you learn the most but you’re just going to skip it because you’re burnt out after only playing 5 months. Oh okay… you’re a serious baseball player. Sure

Agree 100% coach. The game is chess and the guys come to HS and can’t even play checkers. Everyone is into “tool development,” but seriously skipping “the game development” part. As you know… It takes a healthy blend of both to be great. Been in it since 1992 and it’s amazing
