We have been talking about and celebrating our differences and similarities

We shared the story of ‘The Dot’ together and made collages inspired by dots.

This week we read The Colour Monster and All About Families. We talked about how our families are all different and special; and how we have lots of people to help when we are feeling different emotions. We celebrated our wonderful Early Years family too 🤎

Having fun in outdoor play 🎨🔧

We appraised portraits by famous artists, then created our own after looking carefully at our features 🧑‍🎨

We have been learning about our 5 senses and using them to explore 👂😋👃🦻👀 There were some funny faces pulled when we tried the lemon!

We had a lovely afternoon talking and learning about how we have grown and changed. We even had a special visit from baby Luna to see the things she can do. We asked lots of questions and sang her some songs 👶

It’s school photo day today, and our children have been inspired to play photographers. They set up their own photography studio and are busily creating portraits of their friends 📸

We had a visit from a nurse today who told us all about her role. We learned about medicine safety and what to expect from the nasal flu jab. Lots of our children said that would like to be nurses when they grow up, because they love to help and look after others 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

It’s Black History month and today we celebrated Claudia Jones and her role in creating Notting Hill Carnival. We learned about its history and made our own masks for a carnival costume 🎉

We joined our Y6 buddies and the parish to celebrate the harvest.

We have been creating artwork inspired by hedgehogs, using a variety of different tools and materials

We went to church. We role-played a Baptism. We learned about some of the words spoken and the special signs and symbols such as the white garment, candle, shell and font. We talked about some of the special people present.

As part of STEM week we listened to The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carole. We cut fruit up and printed caterpillars.

We had a special visit from a police officer. He taught us about his role and showed us some of the special equipment he uses.

In Collective Worship we used the power of prayer to pray for peace along with other children in the local area.
