At Bitcoin, we’re obligated to share information with HMRC for any UTXOs held by people who are tax residents outside the UK. This includes US tax residents, where HMRC will pass this information to the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) in the US.

When politicians actions can only be explained by stupidity or corruption but there is no evidence to determine which, then which is it _most likely_ to be?

‘Social engineering’ is a really odd term for what it means, which would be better described by ‘deception hacking’, ‘social hacking’ or something like that. Public policy is clearly what should be called social engineering.

This is how all taxes seem to largely get justified… There is a tax, but some other tax seems higher so let’s equalise by raising this first tax to that of the second.

Brits always hate their governments, but defend the institution of government endlessly. They are always surprised at the idea of no or much reduced government as either a cartoon impossibility or an imbecilic naivety. Maybe they’re right, but how sad to be resigned to misery.

'Echo chamber' can be used as a slur at a social media space an individual curates for themselves. The opposite is the mass media broadcast channels of TV & paper. When you hear that term, consider whether they are worried about the power of the algo, or of the individual.
