This is not a scene from Inception. The sorcery is a real photo was taken with a very long focal length lens. When the focal length is long, the field of view becomes very small and the resulting image appears more flat. 1/4

To keep the same field of view when using a longer focal length lens you must back away from the subject. But even w/ the same FOV, the pictures will look different/flattened like these portraits That's why sometimes people look different in person than in their pictures 4/4
