My story started here, in LA.  My neighborhood was plagued by gangs. My father was in jail and my mother was left alone on welfare, to raise 6 kids. I had every excuse in the book. But I didn't use it...I went to college, graduated from UCLA, and now I'm an LAPD Sergeant.
