Day 3 of International Week! We had an amazing whole academy sing and dance to ‘Waka waka’ with Trinity from Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation. Did you know that Waka Waka means ‘do it’ and is a phrase used in Cameroon? @OPA_MFL #globalcitizens

We’ve had such a wonderful dress up day across the whole academy from Nursery to Year 6. Every class has looked at a different country with live video links with different countries, food tasting, art and D +T, music, dancing to name but a few things! #globalcitizens @OPABL_MFL

Last week, year 2 took part in the 'Hello Challenge' Our pupils used greetings which they knew and ones they learnt to greet as many children as possible. We practised oracy skills and made sure we spent time with each person before we moved on. Well done @2GOPABL @12LOPABL

This week is International Education Week! We are very proud of our intermediate award received from British Council and are well on the way to gaining accreditiation. This morning, in assembly Mrs Groves reminded us of all the international education which we take part in.🌎

Taken part in 1st networking session UK-German Connection seminar to Mainz. So inspirational to be with so many UK + teachers passionate about international educational and projects! Excited to be visiting a German school tomorrow (+ loving being back in Germany) 🇩🇪 Outwood Family

Mrs Groves and some of the MFL Ambassadors led an assembly on French celebration of 'la Chandeleur.' We learnt that it is to celebrate the beginning of the end of winter. Mae and Grayson also took part of the tradition of flipping pancakes with a gold coin in the other hand! 🥞

Today, our MFL Ambassadors were so excited to have a live call with our partner school in Germany! We spoke to pupils there and asked each other questions. It has been a fabulous week and it's been a great joy for our pupils to find out more about Germany and the German language. Hearing them greeting staff in German has been a highlight. Thanks to the goetheinstitut Goethe-Institut London for your support and resources. #ShoutoutforGerman

Our MFL Ambassadors and German club members had a wonderful time at our Church community coffee morning. They opened post from Germany and also shared what we do as an international school here at Bell Lane. It was great to have feedback about everything we do. #community

This is a fantastic opportunity which I took part in last year. It has resulted in a wonderful partner school, our partner teacher has already been to visit and I am hoping to go out next academic year! Pupil, staff and the community have already gained so much from the link!
