More than 900 Monarch Watch tags were recovered from monarch overwintering sites in central Mexico during the 2021 tagging season. All of the tags have been examined and the “Tag recoveries from central Mexico” list has been updated. To view the list: monarchwatch.org/tagrecoveries

Bee or fly? The pollinators in the pictures below are flies! Drone flies masquerade as bees with various striping patterns that are almost perfect matches to many bee species. They are such good bee mimics that they even have similar flight and nectaring behaviors as bumble bees!
