It already costs thousands of dollars in education to become a hairstylist. Why should red tape and bureaucracy cost your hairstylist thousands more? Let’s modernize hairstyling by leaving 1950's regulation behind. Because you shouldn't have to cut through red tape to cut hair.

Hairstylists who have been working for 25 years are being forced out by red tape and bureaucracy. Let's allow hairstylists to choose their own career path by making it a voluntary trade. Because you shouldn't have to cut through red tape to cut hair.

It's harder to become a hairstylist in Ontario because red tape and bureaucracy are forcing hairstyling schools to close. Let's make it easier to become a hairstylist by removing unnecessary government barriers. Because you shouldn't have to cut through red tape to cut hair.

Paying an annual fee to the government does not make you better at cutting hair. Let's allow schools and salons to develop the classes that educate hairstylists. Because you shouldn't have to cut through red tape to cut hair.

It makes no sense to put hairstylists out of work with red tape and bureaucracy when there is a skilled trades shortage crisis in Ontario. Let's put educated hairstylists back to work by making it a voluntary trade. Because you shouldn't have to cut through red tape to cut hair.

Ontario Hairstylists welcomes this announcement by @DrFullertonMPP. This reduction in fees for students will encourage more people to enter the skilled trades in Ontario. We look forward to working with Doug Ford on additional measures to cut red tape for hairstylists.

Ontario Hairstylists fully support @LisaThompsonMPP and Doug Ford focus on the skilled trades and apprenticeship training. We also urge you to remove Hairstyling from the compulsory trades to encourage more people to enter our trade.

Why has the govt turned its back on promising that hairstyling would become a voluntary trade? The govt's inaction on red tape & bureaucracy costs hairstylists thousands more. No one wants a 1950's style, so why should 1950's style regulation still be around? CC: Ross Romano
