Hannah from Inclusive United popped in last week. She’d just finished a (very hot!) 2.5 hr sports & employability session for young adults with mild learning disabilities. We gave her a pair of football & astro boots for one of the young people that Inclusive United support.

Our lovely trustee Paula was in charge of our Pop Up Shop yesterday. She helped out Niki, who works at the Adventure Playground next door. Niki’s on her feet all day, running around after the kids at the playground, so she was in need of some comfy trainers!

We’re back with our Tuesday afternoon sessions. We had visits from parents kitting out their children ready for the new school term and children needing football boots for the up and coming season. We gave out 39 pairs of your lovely preloved sports shoes.

We met Tom yesterday, who has been inspired by One Impossible Thing, to collect preloved running kit. He gives them to refugees & others, who want to run but don’t have the means to buy the kit. He travelled from Peterborough to pick up trainers. Great to meet you Tom!

Brockswood Primary School have started a running club for the students. Gemma from the school popped in for some running shoes. She also got football boots for some of the students. Look out for Brockswood Primary School posse at the Gadebridge Park junior parkrun on Sunday!

Linda from Herts Welcomes Refugees came by our container to pick up some trainers for refugees from Iran, Syria, Eritrea and beyond, who have arrived with nothing more on their feet than a pair of flip flops.

A reminder to all our lovely supporters. We only recycle sports shoes - football boots, trainers, athletics spikes, astro boots, walking boots. We are receiving more fashion shoes, flip flops, heels & slippers. Please do not recycle these in our bins. Thank you!

At One Impossible Thing we extend the life of a sports shoe to help those in need. But running our charity costs money. For us to operate, we also need to extend our charity life so we can support those who most need us. And you can help us by becoming a regular monthly donor.

Sports shoes with holes or the soles worn down we can't reuse. If you have them. why not get creative and make art like Gary! We'd love to see your creativity. If you are a school or art college & want trainers to make art with, get in touch, as we have some that we can't pass on
