Still struck by the impact our microbiome has on efficacy (and toxicity) of immunotherapy in lung cancer. Listen to this episode of the IASLC podcast, Lung Cancer Considered, where I discuss the data with Drs. Arielle Elkrief and Bertrand Routy. iaslc.org/iaslc-news/lun…

Cake made to Mr12’s high and exacting standards 😂 Instructions were: lemon drizzle and Star Mix. Admittedly he wanted the Star Mix IN the cake, but… Buttercream icing is a HUGE pain in this heat! Every other year I seem to forget this fact #NotJustAnOncologist 😉

That doctor you saw at 7pm on a Friday in hospital? They were paid £18.62/hr; for CPR, giving critical treatments, making life or death decisions for your loved ones. They’re asking for £22.67/hr. A bargain for a fully qualified dr. Wes Streeting thinks that’s unreasonable.

The bottom line with all NHS staff, not just doctors, is that unless you make the NHS a decent place to work, with a decent enough salary to be able to pay off your debts and afford to buy a house near where you work, or at least know where you’re going to be working in the next

Dr Luke Craddock (@drlukecraddock) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Doctors currently earn £18.62 an hour, they are asking for £22.67 an hour. Their assistants get paid £24.45 an hour. How can Wes Streeting defend paying doctors less than their assistants?

Gas Guru (@thesnoozedoctor) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Now we have a situation where Doctors’ Assistants, unqualified to diagnose, are paid more than actual Doctors. Even with full pay restoration, Doctors would still earn less than these assistants, exposing a ludicrous disparity in the healthcare system’s wage structure!

Jo Evans David Oliver (also on Blue Sky) Christ - that is so awful. I hope your friend is linked in with appropriate services for support/treatment now. There really should be a formal inquiry into we got this far. The medics who enabled this should hang their heads in shame and never be in leadership positions again.

7 years ago, this simple note started ALK+ UK’s journey! 💙 In 2018, with no UK support groups for ALK+ lung cancer patients, Debra Montague our Chair, reached out to fellow UK patients on a US forum. There were 18 attendees at the meet-up and we were incredibly fortunate to

I’ve been a Doctor 36yrs & I understand why Residents have resorted to strikes 20% less pay than Drs in 2008, £100k student debt, poor working conditions/job security, higher pension contributions, longer working life as pension after 67yrs I had it good & Karol had it better

Amazing news for our patients! Eternally grateful to Sanjay Popat at RMH for accepting our patients to treat as early access, but delighted to be able to now do this in house!

Anyone else worried about how health care professionals have been silently but definitely excluded from the covid vaccine this year. As an oncologist, this worries me as my patients are vulnerable. Disappointing that the decision for this is not included in The Green Book.
