Congrats to newly minted Dr. Oliver Drozdowski Oliver Drozdowski for a very successful defense of his PhD-thesis. And thanks to Tristan Bereau for being chair of the committee and to the whole group for the lovely hat.



Great theory work by Oliver Drozdowski who compared the classical with the bubbly vertex model and found that the latter naturally leads to cell bulging and extrusion at topological (pentagonal) defects. He then developed an analytical theory for the corresponding energy landscapes.



Spring brings new beginnings.. Happy to start my new position ISTAustria as a post doc with Edouard Hannezo. Looking forward to learn new things and study new problems in the realm of multicellular structures. Also: Vienna is beautiful.
