What animals species live in the park? the Roosevlt Elk & the Northern Spotted Owl

Along the west coast and North America, from Mexico to Southern Canada, are mountain ranges of diverse character called Coast Ranges.

Olympic Mountains are a unique part of those ranges.

Two most important abiotic factors of the park are the mountains and the lakes . They are important because they can affect our population.

They create more area for organisms to live in , like the cougars who live within them. Creating space means increase population of animals!

Lakes affect an ecosystem by land animals not being able to swim across. Animals rely on them as a water source to drink from.

Lakes play an important role as a food source for species such as the black bear whom eat the fish in the lakes.

Biotic factors: Northern flying squirrels role in the food web is to get energy from producers and pass it in the second level consumers.

If the squirrels were removed the consequence would be harsh. #savethem 🐿

Cougars presence in the park is a reference of Olympic National Park's wildness. Without them as a predator, species would over populate.

If those other species overpopulate, eventually they will go extinct due to loss of food.
