📍This morning, Deputy Secretary Don Graves participated in a tour and roundtable at Olive-Harvey College, a coalition member of #GoodJobsChallenge awardee The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. Graves discussed the importance of prioritizing Cook County’s economic + societal health through #workforce development. (1/2)

As part of the $500M Good Jobs Challenge, funded by the American Rescue Plan, Olive-Harvey College leads the transportation, distribution, and logistics sector partnership at The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, which operates the largest public workforce system in the nation.

Today, at the Chicago Workforce Partnership Roundtable, I met with The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, a Good Jobs Challenge recipient to discuss how workforce development is driving economic development & closing the skill gap in the healthcare, IT, manufacturing, and transportation industries.

With a terrific welcome by Olive-Harvey College President, Dr. Kimberly Hollingsworth, Deputy Secretary Don Graves delivered bright & blue skies connected to training & #CommunityCollege #education supported by Federal investments. Amped to prepare #students for career opportunities in #aviation!

Nearly half of all US Latinx undergrads choose community college.  At #UnidosUS23, I spoke with Brent Parton, Beth Cobert, & Carolina Jannicelli on how #communitycolleges, incl. City Colleges of Chicago, are breaking down barriers to college access & helping create a more inclusive economy.
