This video is an absolute gem. ❤️🇬🇧 In 1967 John Reith, the first ever Director General of the BBC, spoke to Malcolm Muggeridge about the "BBC accent". - via BBC Archive

Congratulations to Annalisa Martin the winner of the Prize of the German Historical Institute London 2022! It was a year with many strong applications, and we would therefore also like to highly commend two shortlisted dissertations by Uta Rautenberg and Katherine Arnold!

The latest issue of the #MWS magazine is out now! It features an interview with GHIL fellows William King & David Lawton who discuss their research on the important and understudied history of Euroscepticism, and alternative attitudes towards European integration, in Britain.👇

I love to dunk on DB but it's also important to remember that the German rail network is much more dense and multipolar than other large European countries. While Germany obviously needs to fix the mess on its tracks, the (relatively) good regional system makes it challenging.
