Brilliant performance by Castillo in the opener! Great combination of two seamers in on the righties and then hit the top line with the 4 seamer. 73% FB. He has a gifted arm; capable of 100+ pitches and 7+IP anytime!

What an AB in the 8th last night by Cal, a 7 pitch battle that he won vs. Neris. Dug out a low and away hard split and shot it down the right field line to drive in Crawford to make it 4-1. Everybody talks about the HR’s. He has become a great clutch RBI guy!

The key for Logan Evans today is to protect his great array of breaking balls by stuffing his FB in on those RHH hands. Got to keep them honest!

Good opprtunity for Julio tonight as McCullers throws a lot of breaking balls and change-up’s for strikes. I see him doing some damage!

Stellar performance by Gilbert tonight! What were the keys to his 6 1/3 of shutout baseball: 81 % 1st pitch strikes, and most importantly, a season high 46% FB usage. Made his split and slider unhittable and his pitch count lower!

Expect a big bounce-back performance from Kirby tonight after allowing 8 runs in the last 11 innings over 2 starts. Earlier this year, Kirby K’ed 14 Angels over 7IP. A very RHH line-up!

The idea that everybody throws 95+ today and few did 20+ years ago is hogwash! When I started the gun read the ball after it crossed home plate(91/1983). My last year in 1995, I threw 94 as the gun picked up midway. Statcast picks it up out of the hand today.

Is Detmers available? Boy, I’d try to get him! Big arm, nasty breaking stuff and has no problem with RHH’ers. Best set up lefty I’ve seen this year!

How about Kowar? Finally back with the big club… wasn’t perfect today but 99 FB with a SL…..glad he’s back and he can help them! What took so long??
