Y3 excitedly arrived at school ready in costume for Shakespeare Day!

What a fantastic start to Shakespeare Week at Old Hall! The children all look spectacular in their costumes and are having lots of fun finding out about each other’s characters. #shakespeareweek Shakespeare Week

This morning we had a special assembly to mark the start of Shakespeare Week. Each class was given a bag of goodies which included some beautiful, illustrated Shakespeare books and some clues about one of his plays. We can’t wait to find out more during the week!

Year 1 have had a fantastic time testing out their fire engines this morning in the beautiful sunshine. They thought about what has gone well and what they would improve next time to make them even better. We wonder what Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service think? We were inspired by our recent visit.

At Lego Stem co curricular club Year 3 & 4 children excitedly designed a vehicle to transport an Easter Egg.

Year one have been learning about Purim - a special Jewish celebration. They created a small gift called a Mishloach Manot, following the mitzvah carefully. Then they distributed them to our hardworking staff around the school.

We are all continuing our exciting learning about William Shakespeare today across the school. Year two would like to share a special fact they have learned! Shakespeare Week

Our Year 1 children have been enjoying these fun activities from Phonics Family which also link to maths! They created graphs by spotting di’graphs’ in words. It got quite competitive whilst finding out which was the most common digraph.

Today Reception visited Wrekin College theatre to watch a performance of “Little Red Riding Hood.” The show was written especially for them and everyone really enjoyed joining in and helping with the props. Thank you!

A great end to Shakespeare week in Y3. We have a lovely Shakespeare class book to remember the magical moments with.

A big ‘Thank You’ to All Saints Church in Wellington for hosting a wonderful Easter Experience for our Year 3 pupils.

Our Food Committee had a fantastic morning at PizzaExpress learning all about fresh ingredients and how to create a perfect pizza!

Year 1 have welcomed a special visitor today who was one of Old Hall’s very first female pupils. Mrs Griffiths attended the school from the 1970’s and her family have a long history with the school. We loved learning more about our history and seeing artefacts from the past.

Year 2 launched our Magnificent Monarchs topic with a regal twist. After matching our monarchs we worked as a royal family investigating different Kings and Queens to find out when they reigned and whether they were considered good or bad rulers.
