So saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Shearer who ran the wonderful Facebook site Classic Photos of Newcastle, although I never met him, we often had chats about photos and memories and I always thought of him as a lovely man and friend over the years. RIP Peter.

Just discovered last night after being at the George Robledo book launch, that the actual house that George lived in at Ridgeway, Fenham that has a Blue Plaque outside was occupied by Len Whites family after George left. Yet just one Blue Plaque 🤔🖤🤍

A poignant image from Tuesday. Elizabeth Robledo, daughter of the late Newcastle United great George Robledo, back on Tyneside from her home in Chile for the launch of her father's biography at BackPageNewcastle, salutes St James' Park.

So many bad takes about the proposed Newcastle United badge redesign, especially the worst non-argument ever “it needs to be brought up to date”. If up to me it would revert to the massive baroque city crest and Latin motto that the Edwardian masters wore, not some bloodless corporate logo.

Clint Scotswood BackPageNewcastle graham scott I found a camera film (someone would have to explain it to the kids what a film is) at the training ground, decided to get it developed, loads of photos of players including Mr Ferris. Could have been a contender!!!

Seventy-three years after her dad George Robledo scored the winning goal for Newcastle United in the FA Cup final, Elizabeth Robledo returns to Wembley Stadium from her home in Chile for this year's showdown. #FACup

I had the pleasure of meeting John & Margaret from Leam Lane yesterday, you might have seen them selling programmes in Newcastle on match days. John started selling programmes in 1956 and still does today with Margaret’s help. Would be great if they got featured in a programme
