It is shocking when I see posts like this retweeted by people who work or worked in education.

What happened today at the synagogue in Manchester is horrific, absolutely horrific. Check in on your Jewish friends, colleagues and loved ones. 🩶

Sometimes, I see respected people with lots of followers tweet blanket statements about things schools should or shouldn’t do and get lots of likes while I’m here quietly thinking, well we do that and it works/is useful etc. So HTs, listen *and* do what works for your school.

I’ve come to the conclusion that telling people to ‘switch off’ is unhelpful advice. What does it even mean? I’ve found actively doing things that remind me I’m more than just my job – things I’ll choose to do even when I’m not a HT – is a more useful perspective. 💭😊

I went to gym just once last week as I somehow ended up with a sore sacroiliac joint (never knew this existed until now 😂) and was in pain most of the last two weeks. This, plus almost no exercise impacted my mood 📉 I went this morning and felt more like myself again 💫😊
