"This is a rough life," he replied with a little chuckle, then fell silent soon after, a little frown setting on his features. "How have you been?"

Turning his head slowly, he raised his gaze to set his eyes on his wife, while still eating. "Missed you too, wife."

"I'm good," he mumbled, reaching for his mug to take a large sip from his wine. "Are you well?"

"There is nothing to worry about." He took another sip from his mug, his lips curling slightly at her next words. Setting his mug back down, his gaze settled briefly on her middle. "You look astonishing, wife."

"It a good sign." Attempting a smile, Roose leaned back in his seat and tilted his head at her. "What does the maester say?"

"A boy, hm?" Letting a quiet chuckle slip his lips, he let her place his hand on her belly, a thin smile setting on his lips. "It's good news."

"We will see when *it's born," Roose spoke quietly, fingers brushing lightly against her belly before he retracted his hand. "Healthiness is all that matters."

"Considering the fact that Bethany's never been easy to handle, I'd be very pleased with another son." Roose actually started grinning. "But I mean it. It doesn't matter, as long as our child is healthy." His expression became more serious again.

"Domeric has returned but seems to avoid me." Roose stated calmly, pulling his shoulders into a light shrug. It bothered him more than he thought it would.

Scoffing quietly, Roose dropped back into his seat, turning his head to set his gaze on his wife. "Does he think I don't know?" Pulling a face, he reached for his cup. "He hasn't failed *me. The men failed him."

"Our daughter?" Pulling his eyebrows together, Roose took a sip from his mug before setting it down again. "I thought she was in Highpoint?"

"Rumors?" Pulling his eyebrows together again, his gaze set on the mug in his hand. "What rumors?" He hated that he didn't quite know what was going on with Bethany, even if it was his decision to send her away. "Was I wrong to send her away?" He then asked, quietly.

"No, she isn't." He actually chuckled quietly again and set his mug back on the table to place his hand on top of hers. "She should still come home soon."
