Little blue penguins are the smallest species of penguin and can be found in New Zealand and southern Australia. They typically grow to be only about 13 inches tall and weigh just 2-3 pounds. They are highly social and form breeding colonies of up to several hundred pairs.

Today we found a pair of our Ecuadorian Atelopus spp. “Limón” in amplexus in our breeding set-up. This is part of an ongoing effort here at DWA to understand the breeding process of the members of this endangered genus of amphibians.

We are thrilled to share images of our baby Capuchinbird. They are also known as the calfbird from the mating calls that the males use in their lek when they display to attract the females. We have successfully raised many of these unique cotingas for years.

The 9th Manatee Release was a success, with 3 majestic manatees returned to their natural habitat. Thanks to the collaboration between Centro de Rescate Amazónico - CREA and The Dallas World Aquarium, a total of 31 manatees have been released since 2007. dwazoo.com/conservation/p…
