53 individual #cryoEM maps were calculated for these 13 structures. Lot of work that was done by Bonnie Murphy and Niklas Klusch Max Planck Institute of Biophysics. 😅💤
Niklas Klusch, Özkan Yildiz, and Werner Kühlbrandt @MPIBP, together with J. Senkler, H.P. Braun from Inst. für Pflanzengenetik Leibniz Uni Hannover solved the #CryoEM structures of Complex-I from A.thaliana and Polytomella. Preprint here: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #structuralbiology
It's been a while, but it's still worth mentioning that the artistic image of Complex-I by twitterless Niklas Klusch Max Planck Institute of Biophysics made it onto the cover of "The Plant Cell" Oxford Academic. academic.oup.com/plcell/article…
Our work on PSS, an enzyme embedded in the membrane and involved in synthesis of lipids, is finally published in Nature Communications . Many thanks to the twitter-less group members Martin Centola, Katharina van Pee and Heidi Betz (Department of SB Max Planck Institute of Biophysics). 🥂🥂 rdcu.be/cCyAa
Gratulations to Safarian Lab and co-workers (Di Wu, Sonja Welsch, Schwalbe Lab, ...) @MPIBP Goethe-Universität to their latest publication in PNASNews. The 2Å #cryoEM structure shows how cytochrome bd-II is regulated. 👍🥂 pnas.org/content/118/50…
First publication by our new Structural Biology Unit (Structural Biology Unit) headed by Özkan Yildiz 👏🥳 Check out the #cryoEM structures of the phosphate #transporters Pho90 from yeast published in Structure now 👉 cell.com/structure/full… #biophysics #structuralbiology
The figure shows that in the symmetric structure, both Pho90 protomers are outward-open (left) while in the asymmeric structure protomer A is outward-open and protomer B is inward-open (right). Congrats to the authors Simon Schneider, Werner Kühlbrandt and Özkan Yildiz!
