I am glad to announce that we have discovered a new extracellular electron transfer (EET) mechanism through which bacteria can respire without oxygen. Bacteria can use G-quadruplex DNA structures bound to hemin as an EET route. Exciting times ahead! 😊 doi.org/10.1093/nar/gk…
