This Oasis tour is amazing to see. It’s also amazing to see all these British music journalists/britpop snobs contorting themselves into frustrated knots of resentment because they can’t just see it’s a massive cultural thing that doesn’t give a fuck what they say about it.

On 10th August 1996, Oasis played the first of their record-breaking gigs at Knebworth. 250,000 people attended over the 2 days. 2.5 million applied for tickets 7,000 people were apparently on the guestlist. 3,000 crew staged the concert. £22.50 was the cost of a ticket.
