We are hoppy to announce that we have now helped save 1000 mountain yellow-legged frogs! 🐸 This week, we transported 43 frogs from Oakland Zoo to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, where they journeyed by helicopter to be returned into the wild.

Well how about bat! 🦇 Horton the bat visited the hospital this week for a general health check. At 23 years old, Horton is a senior citizen. He has arthritis & allergies, which we are managing. We continue to give Horton the best quality care possible in his silver years 💕

That's a wrap on ZooCamp, which hosted 1,355 campers this summer! ZooCamp partners with an organization aligned with wildlife and conservation, like our Heron Rescue Project partners, International Bird Rescue, featured on this year's ZooCamp shirt & received $2 per ZooCamp registration.

Our vets made a house call this week to give our flamingo flock their checkups, and our staff accessorized for the occasion — check out vet tech Monica’s on-theme earrings and Keeper Valerie and Marisa’s signature socks! Flamingos are in good health - nice job vets & keepers!
