What big ears you have!

Big ears help you hear better + they’re super cute, but as red wolves who are well adapted to hot, humid climates know, big ears are also a great way of dissipating excess body heat to stay cool 😎

In 2021, MT Governor Greg Gianforte shot a YNP wolf that was stuck in a trap. He wasn't appropriately certified to do so, + experts believe he violated trapping protocols. Traps are cruel + unethical torture devices + must be checked every 48 hours. Cont. below ⬇️

Advocates cheer lobo pups and adoptive families but caution that over-reliance on fostering diminished the window for genetic rescue of Mexican wolves as population growth makes it harder to increase gene diversity. Family pack releases are the solution: ow.ly/sY4E50S4N3A

Wolves have a natural sense of curiosity, but their curious nature comes second to their neophobia - a fear of anything new.
