Herd bull has the oiler figured out. No i didn't pull the bull. No corral and they're all bred so why put up with him at home? And yes I put a creep out to prep for weaning in the next couple weeks. Shame on me.

75 pairs all back home yesterday. Wonder what that 2nd steer calf weighs? 🤔 he's the infamous 3 digit bw purebred. How much pay weight has the industry given up chasing low bw?

Update: he was 876lbs at 235 days old. He was ~20 lbs heavier than the heaviest bull calves, in part due to his bw being ~15lbs heavier. At today's prices that weight is worth good money.

Honest question. How does one think about breeding a heifer if politician is going to dump excess supply on market if it gets to high?

We got the sire verification back on this year's bull pen and we have a real nice selection of bulls off Terry that will sell this January. Moderate birth weights and exceptional performance.

Bull calves are settled in nicely now after weaning.
