The Red Hook Pool closure is a symptom of chronic disinvestment in NYC Parks. Thank you Office of New York City Comptroller Brad Lander for calling attention to the inequitable impact of Mayor Eric Adams's austerity policies on the communities that rely on these amenities most. Take action: bit.ly/redhookpool

Following recent flash floods and a tour of Hoboken resilience parks w/ REBUILD BY DESIGN & South Bronx Unite, NY4P sent a letter urging bold investment in NYC Parks as climate infrastructure. Read the letter: bit.ly/40G3i0A #ParksPower #Resilience 📷Riverside Park Conservancy

The heat index is in the triple digits this week. Why is the Red Hook Pool still closed? New Yorkers rely on public pools as a critical lifeline on hot summer days. We've got to hold NYC Parks accountable for reopening the pool as quickly as possible. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/07/29/why…

Good news! The spray pad at Red Hook Pool is now open daily from 10am–7pm, providing relief while the main pool remains closed. Thanks to 300+ petition signers, Alexa Avilés 🌹 愛麗莎, State Senator Andrew Gounardes, Brad Lander, CB6 & Friends of Red Hook Pool for keeping the pressure on this issue.

NEW: I’m partnering with New Yorkers for Parks, cmjuliewon.bsky.social & orgs to launch a petition to reclaim space under the Queensboro Bridge. We want NYC Hall to: 1️⃣ Restore the Queensbridge Baby Park for public use 2️⃣ Convert lots under the Bridge into open space 3️⃣ Increase open space with new parks

🌉Sign the Petition to Bring Back Queensbridge Baby Park!🌳 Public land should serve the public! Sign the petition at the link in New Yorkers for Parks bio, or visit bit.ly/qbbabypark 📢

Open Plans is proud to support the call to reclaim Queensbridge Baby Park. For too long, this space and other public sites in LIC have been fenced off and inaccessible. It’s time to return it to the community as public space. Petition: bit.ly/qbbabypark cmjuliewon.bsky.social New Yorkers for Parks

New Yorkers for Parks New Yorkers for Parks was happy to help break ground for the future open space at Pier 6 in Sunset Park (off 1st Ave/41st St). The pier, which hasn’t been accessible for decades, will become a beautiful 5-acre space for the community. edc.nyc/press-release/…

No highway expansions! Instead of pouring billions into highways, NYC must invest in solutions that expand green space, reconnect neighborhoods, and give people safe, sustainable ways to get around. New Yorkers for Parks is a proud member of the Stop the Cross Bronx Expansion Coalition.
