Last weekend’s rainfall helped improve soil moisture in much of the eastern half of Texas, but only small increases in reservoir pools were observed due to dry soils. We expect reservoir pools to continue a decreasing trend with a dry long range forecast. #txwx

The month of October brought a mix of weather events for the WGRFC in TX, NM and Southern CO. Heavy rainfall in Southern Colorado from post tropical moisture created flash and river flooding while much of Texas only received half of its normal monthly rainfall. #txwx #nmwx #cowx

Drought degradations continue to worsen in Central and South Texas. Rainfall chances over the next two weeks would be beneficial to the area as the soils are able to absorb it. #drought
