What a difference in temperatures today. Front has pushed further south and high pressure to our north is providing cooler temperatures but with plenty of cloud cover. A few showers/drizzle expected over the mountains this afternoon, mainly toward the NC/TN/VA border area.

What is that rainbow spot next to the sun? 🤔 If you saw this over Blacksburg, VA this evening, you saw a sundog! 🐶☀️ It's an optical illusion that happens when sunlight shines through millions of tiny ice crystals high in the atmosphere. #sundog #skywatching #science #clouds
