Raising a child is thus far the thing I've done that goes hardest on both those axes simultaneously. It's demanding (although already much easier than it was when she was 2 weeks old) and off-the-charts satisfying (not all moments, but many hours of many days)

The love also brings with it delight, and i think non-parents experience this but while parenting it's like having it on tap. I like other peoples' kids but I relish and adore mine. Basic ice cream versus the most luxurious chocolate gelato eaten in the sun on a perfect day
