It’s Nursery Rhyme Week this week in Nursery! Our nursery rhyme of the day is ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ ⭐️ after some beautiful singing we created some ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ wands to use as props 🌟✨💫⭐️

Nursery rhyme week has finished, we have now moved onto maths! Here are some highlights from last week! ⭐️🌈

Today in maths we learnt to sort objects based on their colour! 🌈well done nursery, this was a great start to our maths learning this half term 🌈🩷

This week in maths we have been focusing on sorting and classifying different objects! We have sorted them by colour and size. As well as classifying objects based on what they are 🦒🚘🐚🍏🧡🩵❤️💚💜💙💛🌈 Please ask us to show you how we use our ‘Maths brains’ at home 🌈⭐️

We have focused on our feelings this week! We have read The Colour Monster book to show us how we can express how we are feeling through colour and the zones of regulation. We discussed what makes us happy, sad, scared, excited, calm and loved - just like The Colour Monster! 🌈⭐️

As part of our Rainbow 10th Anniversary Celebrations Nursery went on a leaf hunt this morning to explore our core value of ‘Excellence’ in the outdoors! 🍂🍃🍁we collected lots of leaves to create leaf hedgehogs back in class!🦔⭐️🌈

We have started a new book in Literacy! ‘The Three Little Pigs’🐖🌈 we used the tuff tray to retell the story and use key language from the text⭐️ We discussed which material was ‘strong’ and which material was ‘not strong’ for The Three Little Pigs to use to build their house🏡

Today we discussed where ourselves or our families are from! We looked at the flags of that country and discussed how we all come from different countries around the world! We are so proud to be in a multicultural and diverse school🌈⭐️ We also made our own flags!⭐️

We have been mini artists this week in Nursery! 🎨 We have been looking at the work of artist, Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We enjoyed spotting different fruits and vegetables he uses in his artwork whilst feeling inspired to create our own fruit faces! 🍏🍌🍋🍇🎨🖼️🌈
