Excited to measure bus stops across NYC!

On Thursday morning in Brooklyn Bridge Park, we celebrated the final installation of unique computer vision sensors, placed along the Greenway from Greenpoint to East New York as part of our first-of-its-kind user study of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.

Reaching this step took extensive work - not only from BGI, but from our incredible partners at Numina, Regional Plan, and NYC DOT. Now, these 31 sensors will allow for a fuller picture of how, where, and when the Greenway is used.

We’ve been thrilled to host a Coro Fellow again and encourage other civically engaged companies to participate. The fellows are talented, driven, and achieve a real impact on the business in a short time.

I spent a lot of time training and leading large teams of surveyors to collect that human scale data, but I'm also really optimistic about the use of technology like Numina to scale and refine some aspects of human scale data collection.

We thank Consumer Reports & The Guardian for their reporting on the impact of e-commerce warehouses on neighborhoods. They deployed Numina sensors in Red Hook, Brooklyn, to find staggering volumes of delivery vehicles using local streets. Learn more: consumerreports.org/corporate-acco…
