📏 These students are knee deep in research. All month, Nanuet Senior High School teacher Charles Barone and his AP Environmental Science classes have been visiting the Outdoor Education Center to create pond topography maps.

Nanuet Senior HS Senior Arnav Mehta has been named a Semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program! Recognition is given for outstanding academic promise demonstrated by a student’s performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The (productive) struggle is real but that is not a reason to stop trying. STEM met SEL at George W. Miller Elementary this afternoon when STEM teacher Mary Rose Palumbo taught her first graders the power of the phrase “not yet" when completing a challenge like stacking cups.

Varsity football defeated Edgemont 26-0. The Defense were led by Mike Cesario with 12 tackles and an interception. Shane O’Neil also shined with 7 tackles and a sack. Colin Stemmerman had 89 yards and 3 touchdowns. Evan Moran produced 57 yards and a touchdown.

A regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on October 3 at 7:30pm in the Nanuet Senior High School Global Learning Commons. The meeting will include a presentation on the findings from the BOE Safety Committee and will be broadcast live on youtube.com/@NanuetSchools

🐝 The Nanuet Outdoor Education was a hive of activity on Monday morning when Highview Elementary teacher Tim Nye brought over his fourth grade class for a lesson on honeybees. Students were abuzz when they got an up close look at the parts of the honeybee under the microscope.

Congratulations to Nanuet Senior High School Junior Maren Savino on her @OfficialNYSSMA All-State selection! Maren, who plays viola, will represent #NUFSD and perform with the All-State Symphony Orchestra at the #NYSSMA Winter Conference being held in Rochester at the end of Nov.

Meet Geoff Gaiss, the newest member of the Nanuet Board of Education! Gaiss was appointed and sworn into the position at the start of last night’s board meeting. Gaiss, who has lived in Nanuet since 2018, works in the financial tech field and is the parent of a student at Miller.

Those who ski together, succeed together! The activity was one of several team building exercises found at the Outdoor Education Center yesterday for the A. MacArthur Barr eighth grade team day. Nearly 180 students made their way through seven stations throughout the day!

Golden Knights celebrating their Golden Anniversary! Members of the Nanuet Senior High School classes of 1973 - 1975 returned to campus over the weekend as part of their 50-year reunion celebration and received a tour from HS Principal Michael Mahoney and AD Phil Carbone.

The Nanuet Fire Department visit George W. Miller Elementary this morning for #FirePreventionWeek. Before getting a tour of the pumper truck, students learned the importance of memorizing their address, knowing when to dial 911 and the proper way to check if a door is hot.

Nanuet Senior High School Seniors are getting prepared for the next step of their academic journey or future careers. Senior College and Career Day provided the Class of 2️⃣4️⃣ an opportunity to work with counselors on applications and learn about possible careers after graduation.

The fifth grade students inhabiting A. MacArthur Barr are in the depths of a biome research project for social studies. With the support of Dana Devita, Barr’s Library Media Specialist, students are focusing on one of four biomes: desert, tundra, rainforest, grasslands.
