With support from EU in Uganda , our #FoodSystems & nutrition team held a #FoodCLICworkshop reflecting on key lessons from earlier #FoodLab phases: Food safety = system-wide governance issue, Strong coordination is vital, Lived experiences must guide policy.
Currently underway is High-level meeting btn LG Communication Officers & Permanent Secretaries from Ministry of Local Government led by Mr Ben Kumumanya & Ministry of ICT&NG at Imperial Royale Hotel. This engagement aims to enhance communication strategies & leverage ICT for improved service delivery.
PS Ben Kumumanya urges Ministry of Local Government asked LG comms to boost service delivery through effective communication, highlighting progress in education, health, and infrastructure. He emphasized their key role in national development at Imperial Royale Hotel Kampala meeting.
Dr. Aminah Zawedde PS Ministry of ICT&NG urged Uganda's Local Govt Comms Officers to leverage digital platforms like WhatsApp, TikTok, & X to engage the youthful, tech-savvy population with digital tools are key to sharing govt messages & countering misinformation. #DigitalUganda
Aminah Zawedde notes that with Uganda's population being predominantly young-with an average age of about 16 years, majority are active on platforms such as WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube. She urges Communication Officers to follow citizens wherever they are.
CAFOMI facilitated a learning exchange visit for officials from NTOROKO DLG & Bundibugyo to Kamwenge District. The Water, Sanitation & Hygiene technical teams from both districts acquired valuable insights, skills & best practices by observing Kamwenge’s successful WASH approaches
The learning exchange visit equipped the WASH technical teams to effectively implement learned techniques and strategies in their respective communities, enhancing local WASH programs. This initiative was carried out under the Global WASH Programme, funded by Bundesentwicklungsministerium
