The SLI's Lead and Aspire Mentoring Program pilot kicked off this morning with more than 70 participants coming together for a day of professional learning. The group is considering why mentoring is important in schools and what skills are needed for effective mentoring.

Welcome back Growing Great Leaders Group 8 participants! Today we are exploring the final theme – Ensuring Quality Teaching. Robust discussions will focus on the importance of theories of quality teaching. This group of quality leaders is dedicated to enriching students’ lives.

What a treat to have Christian van Nieuwerburgh join DELs, PCMs, People and Culture and SLI team members today for an interactive workshop on reflective practice. We explored his new framework for reflection, focused on wellbeing and impact, + tips for turning theory into action.

An inspiring end to the week for our SL-APLP Cohort 11 participants, with Professor Viviane Robinson joining us to explore leading authentic improvement and complex problem solving. Participants have also enjoyed connecting with colleagues in their professional learning teams.

SLI Director Joanne Jarvis was humbled to receive the Dr Paul Brock Memorial Medal at the NSW ACEL awards tonight. "Dr Brock’s passion for teaching and his clarion call to enact the moral purpose of public education inspired and helped shape me as an educator," she said.
