HDQ Night Shift has had a very busy night! From working traffic for the Uncle Sam Jam in Lincoln, drug and warrant arrests in Gage County, to an arrest for an active burglary from a fireworks stand in Wahoo. Your NSP Troopers are hard at work to ensure a safe and fun 4th for all!

🚨Interstate 80 is CLOSED between Milford and I-180 in Lincoln (mm 382-mm 401) because of a crash and ongoing investigation. Please follow detours and avoid the area. Additional details will be provided when possible.

This afternoon, Troopers will be honored to escort the remains of U.S. Army Pvt. Erwin Schopp from Omaha to Beatrice, where he will be laid to rest alongside family on Friday. This Nebraska hero was only recently identified among the many who died as a POW in the WWII.

HDQ Troopers, and our local agencies did some fantastic work to safely apprehend this dangerous suspect early this morning!

Ok Nebraska, we need the exact opposite of whatever this driver decided was a good idea. 25MPH over the speed limit in an active construction, while zipping in and out of traffic posing an extreme risk to drivers and construction workers! 🚧

Troopers are keeping an eye out to protect road crews working near Lincoln. In just a couple hours this morning, troopers stopped 25 vehicles for 10+ MPH above the speed limit in the I-80 work zone west of Lincoln. The speed limit is 55 in the area.

Trp. Ligenza #NSP297 made a new fluffy friend tonight at the Saunders County Fair in Wahoo, NE!

🚧 multiple motorists have been stopped and cited for speeding in the I80 construction zone west of Lincoln in a 3 hour period tonight, including one for 30 MPH over the speed limit. Treat construction zones with the respect that they deserve, slow down! 🚧

Tonight Troop H troopers received one of the most dangerous calls that a traffic enforcement officer can receive… A wrong way driver on Interstate 80. Thankfully, Trp. Nguyen #NSP64 was able to locate this driver and stop them before they caused a fatality crash. Drive Sober

It unfortunately happened again….. this driver drove across the Interstate median, drove the wrong way on the interstate, crossed back over and hit a delineator post. Folks, you have to drive sober before someone else looses their life because of your bad choices.

Tonight an intoxicated driver struck the back of a Trooper’s vehicle with its lights on, while on an active traffic stop in Lincoln. Thankfully the Trooper was not in his vehicle at the time and is ok.

Yet another wrong way driver on Interstate 80..... Thankfully #NSP389 was able to stop this heavily intoxicated driver on her way to pick up a child...... Please drive sober and plan ahead.

Students are returning to class in many Nebraska communities this week. Please keep a careful eye out for kids around school zones and always stop when the bus stop arm is activated.

While temporarily on patrol in NSP Troop A Night Shift, Trp. Landry #NSP249 clocked a driver at 116 MPH on 264th street, before crossing W. Center Rd, and crashing into an electric pole guide wire. Thankfully the driver and the rest of the motoring public safely walked away.
