In 1980 Fred Sanger became the fourth person to be awarded two Nobel Prizes when he received the Chemistry Prize for his work in DNA sequencing. In his new method he used radioactive markers to mark the different building blocks in a DNA strand - A, T, C or G

Our study shows that PHLPP2 is essential for supporting MYC oncogene. Blocking PHLPP2 prevented progression of #ProstateCancer to #metastasis in our model: bit.ly/30kKDqj. Great collaboration with Trotman Lab Newton Lab. Really glad for the support from WCM Prostate SPORE !

A new JCB study (bit.ly/2LJbmcX) reveals that inhibiting PHLPP2 lowered the levels of MYC, an oncogenic protein that causes many different types of cancer that cannot be targeted by conventional drug therapies. Read the press release: bit.ly/2w15VeD Nowak Lab

Today was Matt's last day in the lab so we went to get some ice creams! Matt spent summer with us and did amazing job! A lot of cloning and organoids work with Caroline B! He is back to school Oceanside School District #OSD_NY and hopefully will be back with us next summer!
