Had a great morning working with talented young writers and so looking forward to running this workshop on finding your writing purpose and writing what really matters to you! If you're 13-17 years old, I'd love to see you there! 😊🙌

This book is like an art gallery - filled with pieces you could dedicate your life to, but with Olga as tour guide, sheparding you gently forward & saying, Come, there is so much more to see. Feels sometimes like literally everything. (My copy, appropriately well traveled.)

In a recent workshop, a few participants asked me how I approached using the work of others as a creative prompt so I thought I'd share an example using the wonderful Miracle Fish by Ada Limon :) Check out the Mural board for more! app.mural.co/t/sessionlab09…

Read Second Place in a fever on two long train journeys, then, after watching Sunset Boulevard, Lily and I discussed the similarities and resonances between them - the entrapment, the out of favourness, the delusion - and I can’t get the pairing out of my mind.

The Employees by Olga Ravn (translated by Martin Aitken) - a strange seed that will not leave my brain. Science fiction in the art gallery; a sensorial database with glowing pages. Inhale in an afternoon, chew for days. Also pictured: resulting collage (small)

“Susceptible to the possibility of future projects” - Sara Baume, I feel you. Handiwork is everything I need right now; a reminder to use my hands and heart as much as my head, and to be connected to materials both physical and not, present and missing. ❤️

I know how hard it is for facilitators, workshop leaders, and those working in the arts to find a job that helps you keep up your passions while also paying the bills. Part-time, full-time (~£33k-£54k pro-rata) I'd love to hear from you if this feels a good fit! Pls RT too 🙌

I keep a book of poetry on my desk as a reminder to take a moment with something beautiful & outside myself during the day, however grey or heavy my todo list. This one is special. Thanks too, (((David Naimon))) & Kaveh for the chat on BTC. Such a treat! 🙌 podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/bet…

Wanted! New writers, untried writers, yes, you there! Write an essay of 2-3 thousand words on any aspect of living in poverty now. It's for an anthology with @RoadsideMum and it's important. If you think you can't do it, you are exactly the person to try. (1/2)

“Can the withness of the body undo isolation?” Rosmarie Waldrop knows. Another book bought because of a wonderful conversation from (((David Naimon))) on Between The Covers. I recommend both.
