437 students from Calgary Catholic Schools honoured 4,800 veterans at Queen's Park Cemetery. Each poppy placed at a headstone was a reminder of the sacrifices made, and the care shown by every student ensures that no stone is left alone. Lest we forget.

Every year, students place poppies on veterans’ headstones, connecting them with stories of courage and sacrifice. By educating and inspiring youth, we honour Canada’s military and ensure their legacy is never forgotten.

Eighty years ago today, over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army. 1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over. Today, we all remember. We must keep remembering.

On February 15, 1965, at noon, Canada's red and white maple leaf flag was raised on Parliament Hill for the first time. Our national flag symbolizes the unity of Canadians and reflects the shared values we take pride in: equality, freedom, and inclusion.
