Jr. baseball semifinal final: Waterloo-Valley def. Valparaiso 10-8 as Valpo leaves the bases loaded. WV advances to play Platte River for the district championship next, first pitch at 8. 🆚⚾️

Waterloo-Valley scores first on a couple Rivals errors. Ryder Brabec continued to be hot from behind the dish and throws out a Wingnut steal attempt. Had another one dead to rights if the throw was handled. 1-0 WV after one. 🆚⚾️

Rivals even it up 1-1 with some heady base running by Dustin Zakovec. During a pickoff throw to first, he goes from second to third, draws an errant throw, then scores. Middle of 2. 🆚⚾️

WV Wingnuts add a pair, lead 3-1 after two innings.

Rivals make solid contact in the top of third, including a single by RBrabec and a double by Sterup, but don’t score.

Ryder Brabec throws out another would-be base thief, and it cost Waterloo a run as the next guy hit a double. 3-1 WV after three. Brabec has now thrown out four of the last five guys who have tried to steal against him.

Rivals putting the pressure on, and the Wingnuts responding, including throwing a guy out at home. Still 3-1 WV, middle of four.
