For those who think #ADHD isn’t a big deal—I just melted down crying trying to open mail & pay bills before my meds kicked in. My ADHD has hurt my credit, GPA, relationships, career, & mental & physical health. The symptoms might not seem “that bad” but the way they affect us is.

Did you know fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of #ADHD? I didn't- I spent over ten years telling people I felt exhausted all of the time, and nobody connected the dots. There's a few ADHD experiences tied to fatigue that many of us struggle with:

The problem with ADHD folk in employment is that if they go into a hyperfocus and are 500% more productive than a “typical” employee for a few hours… it’s immediately assumed that’s their “normal”, and is expected. This - plus RSD internalised pressure - leads to burnout.

A great way to support #ADHD to achieve a longer term outcome is to have accountability in short bursts. For example, checking in with a teacher throughout the process of writing a paper, instead of just the final deadline.

Very excited about this! Alex and James are experts in the evidence-based science and lived experience of ADHD, and their approach is exactly what’s needed — not the “unleash your superpower” nonsense, but balanced, evidenced education and strategies. Everyone should read this.
