I feel like individualism and western thought has really penetrated leftism in a way that's causing so many fissures. Instead of asking who is this for or thinking through strategy, people are looking at events, marches, etc. and are centering how things fit into their own schema

This is an issue because a lot of people don't realize or don't want to accept mentorship, relationship building, or just differing strategies when they themselves are new to movement. In the larger movement ecology organizing for only 1-3 years is really still being new here.

It is a specific kind of individualism for people to be coming in and thinking that what has worked before hasn't worked therefore they are entitled to leadership versus understanding that people have been organizing against the state and in a power struggle for decades.
