APA welcomes singular “they” ~ "Writers should use singular “they”: (a) when referring to a generic person whose gender is unknown or irrelevant to the context and (b) when referring to a specific, known person who uses “they” as their pronoun." apastyle.apa.org/blog/singular-…
As these universities close across the country, I'm thinking of the students who rely on school meal plans to eat, the students who don't have wifi back home, the students going back to environments where they don't feel safe. Our most vulnerable students will be most impacted.
I asked: When the time comes, what would you like to be remembered for? "Someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability. And to help repair tears in her society, to make things a little better through the use of whatever ability she has."
