Last week, our Students' Council joined a discussion with Alberta's Minister of Advanced Education, Rajan Sawhney. This meeting provided a warm and welcoming space for open dialogue on pressing matters like mental health funding, student debt relief and transparency around MNIFs!

Our Students’ Council members had the opportunity to attend a conversation with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, at MacEwan University. The focus? Building a safer, more respectful digital world for all!

It was an honour to gather with MP Blake Desjarlais, staff, and students at the Miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre to celebrate Métis Week! We are grateful for the meaningful opportunity to connect, share stories, and deepen our understanding of Métis culture and heritage.

Lilli and Deniz, two of your Students' Council representatives, got to hone their leadership and advocacy skills this week! They met with delegates from other member schools at the Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC) Leadership Conference, and engaged in discussions, presentations and keynotes.

Our Students' Council member, Deniz, is in Calgary this week with Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC)! He's connecting and learning with various student representatives, and he enjoyed this morning's South Calgary United Conservative Party of Alberta Pancake Breakfast with Premier Danielle Smith and Myles McDougall.

Deniz's time in Calgary with Alberta Students' Executive Council (ASEC) this week was full of learning, insightful growth, and engaging encounters. It's exciting to see the connections he's made with fellow student leaders and provincial leaders (Naheed Nenshi) through this advocacy work.

Members of your Students' Council met with the Minister of Advanced Education, Myles McDougall, today to discuss government funding, policy and the student experience. Members asked questions, shared experiences and raised awareness of what students face in post-secondary.
