I'm starting to get proficient at skinning/rigging winged creatures, all the better when they don't have any hands to deal with. I always dread setting up the reaction manager for all those fingers.

I'm always happiest here when X floods my feed with awesome looking indie titles I've never heard of. This industry certainly isn't dying (well, maybe the cancerous bits are)

I wish I had time for the the new Lunar collection release. Nall was definitely one of my inspirations for Fidget, among many other sidekicks.

I'm not in a big hurry to touch the Oblivion remaster (I recently replayed pretty much all of it +DLC). But being one of my favorite games I'm enjoying the reception. Actually I'm most excited for the input stuff, since I always preferred to play it on Xbox for gamepad alone.

While it's unglamorous work, I'm finding building numerous crates, totes, containers and kitchenware for my game to be oddly therapeutic.

I spent a few days maturing my viewport culling for added performance. Came up with a performant solution to cull GPU-drawn objects while retaining shadow-casters. Once development settles down I'd love to write a series devblogs outlining these solutions.

I 'think' I'm doing the right thing going from procedural noise to sampled textures for my shadergraph work. I wasn't quite aware of the costs for all those shaders.

There's a lot of animation that has to go into a game. Oddly enough I find animating furniture being interacted with among the simplest and most fulfilling.

I'm waiting for my consumer Switch 2 to finally see what's up with Dust:AET compatibility issues. It's extremely frustrating but rest assured we'll try to resolve it when given the opportunity.

Mini-update regarding Dust: AET on Switch 2. Ethan Lee has conquered the performance issues and hopefully we can post an update once we sort out backend stuff with Nintendo.

Good news, everyone! Dust: An Elysian Tail has now been confirmed compatible with Switch 2 through the latest firmware update. Previous performance issues have been resolved and the game is now available on the eShop for Switch 2. nintendo.com/us/store/produ…

I normally have music or videos playing while I work, it's never a distraction. The only time that I have to shut everything off is when I'm writing. I wonder if full-time writers and composers have to do the same.

I've spent a few weeks on an editor to allow for the authoring of cutscenes/dialogue sequences directly in the game. Lots of work but should save tons of time in the long run.
