These programs are lifelines for working families & provide enrichment that helps academic success. We urge Mayor Eric Adams to reverse these harmful cuts that jeopardize vital youth services our community relies on. bxtimes.com/budget-cuts-ra

Excited to be on this panel next week to discuss the importance of accessible, public data on funds coming to NYC. We need good data to inform our advocacy to support the nonprofit sector. Thank you FPWA for your important work on this project!

Thank you FPWA for putting together an excellent event yesterday to launch your new City Funds Tracker. I was honored to be part of the conversation. Knowledge is power - we need transparent, accessible, accurate fiscal data to inform our advocacy.

Ty FPWA for your partnership through this campaign! As we enter the final budget hearings we continue to ask #WHY15 ? This budget cycle has been an unwarranted roller coaster for nonprofits. We call on the administration for full restorations. Nonprofit New York

#WHY15 when City Council predicts $3.3B in additional revenue? It's time to reverse the cuts from November and January. Nonprofit New York City Council predicts $3.3B in additional revenue, says it’s enough to reverse Mayor’s budget cuts | amNewYork (amny.com)

The budget cycle is not over. We call for the restoration of the November and January 10% cuts, meaningful partnership with the nonprofit sector, increased transparency in the budgeting process, and finally fixing the years-long contract delays. #WHY15

In the fall Mayor Adams announced a 15% cut to all agencies. Nonprofits were not informed & did not know what to expect until the cuts were came in Nov & Jan. All NYers win when nonprofits are true partners in developing solutions for our communities. #WHY15 Nonprofit New York

In Nov, the city made immediate programmatic cuts to language access and legal services ($600K) environmental protection ($4M) after school community programs ($10M) library services ($23.6M) cultural development and cultural institutions ($8.6M); racial equity + more

In Jan, the city cut funding for arts & cultural institutions by an additional $11.6 million this fiscal year, following the $8.4 million cut in November. We must have restorations in light of new updated financial estimates. #WHY15

The administration eliminated the Department of Probation’s Impact program and reduced the budget for older adult centers by $18.8 million. #WHY15

We continue to ask #WHY15 knowing now the budget gap announced in Fall 2023 was likely overstated. IBO estimates a $2.B surplus this fiscal year: ibo.nyc.ny.us/iboreports/pri

Nonprofits want to help solve fiscal challenges, but decisions without our input undermine progress. The 15% cuts harmed every New Yorker. You must include our input for responsible, equitable solutions. #WHY15
