Trying to pressure-test some rules of thumb around renewable adoption, like "lower LCOEs drive higher capacity additions" or even more basic, "PPA prices should be correlated with LCOEs" but the data is surprisingly messy (dots below are the '21 project vintage for diff states).

Highly recommend anyone interested in potential AD/CVD action against SE-Asian origin solar panels read the petition and judge the cost build up for themselves:

How much inventory is left in the Permian? In the Midland Basin, we come up with nearly 25,000 locations left -- but the economically viable locations drop dramatically with price. Let's dig in. For our latest study update, we used a data-driven approach to fill in undrilled

This is from the LBNL utility scale solar report; based on a sample of projects so may be thrown off by small n for some states. Trade policy is a hot topic but interesting that these differences are >> any plausible range of module prices.

Lots to dig into in the analysis, but always, always impressed by the virtuoso charts from Kingsmill Bond and team at RMI, really a master class in portraying complex ideas clearly.

Huge thanks to JAIN FAMILY INSTITUTE for putting on this event, nolan lindquist for framing, Melanie Brusseler for moderating, and the amazing experts from Norton Rose Fulbright U.S. Department of Energy and @InclusiveProsp for engaging in a really smart discussion on the world the IRA is building!
