Got this comment on YouTube My response: I don't say things on Twitter I don't mean. Like, I'm not going to get excited and find myself praising Hamas and then say "oops." In fact, maybe a Twitter gaffe is when someone accidentally says what they do mean?

"Is that all you people think about?" This is deeply important stuff - especially to Jewish people. It all combines into a metastasizing worldview that extends to and affects us in the present. It includes Israel policy, campus... I could go on. Coleman Hughes is right. It's not

“They’re being taught that it’s important to have views, and they’re not being taught that it’s important to know what you’re talking about.” Brilliantly put.

Don't do that, especially in front of people who have not seen the show. My point was that it's important to keep an open mind as you approach these things. Morris was an example of how a reflex proved wrong. Here is the clip re Martyr Made Very bad form on your part.

I'm getting guff for what I did or didn't say about Martyr Made For better or worse, here's the meat of it, but watch the entire thing: youtube.com/watch?v=iU_QXb…

While I'm at it, here's my stream of consciousness about Netanyahu and the hostage/Gaza situation. I got a lot of nice email about it.

Noam Dworman on why we SHOULD debate the Holocaust: "We have the facts on our side. We should be able to punch twice our weight. But somehow, we're obsessed with the fear of amplifying. We're gonna be afraid to amplify until we're the last people to know about this stuff."

“What happened in the late 1960s when a small band of radicals moved from protest to violent resistance? They were known as the Weathermen, and like today’s student protesters, they emerged out of the Ivy League and other elite universities.” @elilake thefp.pub/3TgV9vO

The must-listen of the week is @elilake on when radicals become terrorists. A masterpiece of the pod-doc form. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hon…

Andrew Fox Great points. I would add that for a 2 state solution Palestinians have to do much more than merely "accept the existence of the state of Israel" which in some sense they have already done at a superficial level. What Palestinians really have to do is accept Israel as a permanent

And as you can see in the slo-mo Richard Gage, AIA, Architect the smoke and debris are not “exploding” outward but shooting out in a stream, exactly the physics of air pressure pushing it out as the floors above collapse top to bottom.
