6:30AM: Very foggy conditions around the region this morning as a Dense Fog Advisory is in place until 9am this morning. Until then, expect reduced visibility and don't forget to leave enough room between cars if traveling early this morning☁️ #mowx #fog

Once we get rid of the morning fog it should be a fairly pleasant day with 80s and some sunshine later on⛅️ Humid conditions will persist for the rest of the weekend including Father's Day with isolated rain chances holding off till Sunday evening. #mowx

Happy Father's Day! I'm thinking more clouds than sun today with temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Could have a spot shower south later today, but outdoor grilling and anything outdoors looks to be a go in Mid-MO👍 #mowx #FathersDay

Happy Summer Solstice as we usher in a Heat Advisory and our first stretch of 90 degree weather today and this weekend! Heat index values just above the triple digit mark are expected so stay hydrated out there as we aren't accustomed to this type of heat yet🥵🌡️ #mowx

Essentially copy and paste the forecast from yesterday. Hot and humid conditions with heat index values right around 100 this afternoon as the heat advisory will continue. Breezy winds this afternoon gusting to 25-30 mph might make it feel a tiny bit better outside though. #mowx

A tale of two opposites this morning: We have feels like temperatures in the 90s across the state and much of the country. Meanwhile, parts of Montana got dumped on with snow last night. 🌡️↔️❄️ Snow image is from Glacier National Park, MT #mowx #GlacierNPS

Happy Tuesday and good morning! Another hot and humid day on tap across the state with highs running right around 90 with some more clouds around today. Can't rule out an isolated thundershower with peak daytime heating, but most areas will remain dry this afternoon. #mowx

Heat advisory continues for our eastern counties until Thursday evening. However, that doesn't mean the heat and humidity magically disappear elsewhere! Heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100 will continue for the next few days still. #mowx

Showers and storms are expected to move out of the area by midday with a lull in activity this afternoon. Rain chances ramp up again overnight with the potential for a few strong wind gusts and isolated flash flooding late tonight. Keep checking KOMU 8 for the latest. #mowx

Some areas of torrential rainfall have fallen especially to our south from Rolla to the Lake of the Ozarks. Flash Flood Warnings remain in effect for Maries, Miller, and Morgan Counties. All it takes is 12 inches of moving water to move a car! #mowx

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Scattered storms will develop across the region this afternoon along a stalled out front. These storms will form primarily along and south of I-70 and a couple could have a strong wind gust with them as well as localized heavy rainfall. #mowx

Clouds and isolated storms will keep temperatures north of I-70 slightly cooler today. Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to reach the lower 90s. Feels like temperatures in the triple digits will last not just today, but also into the upcoming week as well🥵 #mowx

A classic summer day across Mid-Missouri with scattered storms possible this afternoon and highs topping out near 90. Watch for locally heavy rainfall under some of these storms⛈️ Temps get bumped up a bit Sunday with slightly lesser chances of rain. #mowx #DogDaysOfSummer

Another hot and muggy one later today with feels like temps near 105 this afternoon. Isolated shower or storms possible around this morning and once again later this afternoon, but not everyone gets hit with these. There is relief ahead though so hang in there! #mowx

Yesterday was my last day at KOMU8. I’m so grateful for the amazing team I’ve worked alongside and for the viewers who welcomed me into their homes whenever I was on-air doing the weather. I’m excited to share that I’m on to my next stop in this career—more details coming soon!
